LATIN KINGS / INSANE UNKNOWNS / SPANISH LORDS / WARLORDS

The Unknowns Players Kings (UPK) was formed in the year 1978.  In 1978 when Folk and People alliances were created in prison, the UPK was meant for a street unity for some of the main north/northwest side gangs under the People nation to join.  The UPK was a coalition built to oppose the United Latino Organization (ULO) and other alliances such as the United Five Organization (UFO).  Spanish Lords, Latin Kings, and Warlords all had a history of being unified ever since the 1960s so they all joined UPK together.  The Insane Unknowns ended their wars with Latin Kings and Spanish Lords in order to join UPK in 78.  UPK also hung out with other gangs that later joined the People alliance such as the Insane Deuces.  All throughout the 1980s the UPK remained in tact in Chicago and also remained heavily united under the People alliance and other People nation gangs.  In 1991 ULO split into three parts which caused its demise and a result UPK ties were not as strong because they no longer needed each other’s full support because IG, ISC, MLD, and LE weren’t going to be teaming up on them anymore.  The Warlords were also fading fast in the early 90s.  In 1992 the Spanish Lords and Insane Unknowns went to war for a while which caused UPK’s demise on the streets of Chicago.
