Man Wanted In Connection With Chicago Shooting

PHOENIX -- A fugitive member of the Black Gangster Disciples Street Gang in Indiana was arrested after U.S. Marshals surrounded a Phoenix apartment complex, investigators said.

Anthony Carr surrended peacefully on Tuesday after tactical agents called him on the telephone and asked to give himself up.

Carr, considered armed and extremely dangerous, was wanted in connection with an AK-47 shooting in Chicago that left one man dead and several other people wounded.

 

Law enforcement authorities said they tracked Carr to an near 30th Street and Roosevelt. U.S. Marshal Task Force members said they set up surveillance on the apartment and confirmed he was there.

"If Mr. Carr thinks he can come to this city and hide, he is wrong", said U.S. Marshal David Gonzales.

He was transported to the Fourth Avenue Jail where he awaits extradition to Illinois.
