An alleged gang member was shot and killed Thursday afternoon during a quarrel with three assailants on Chicago's South Side, police said this morning.
Sean Page, 25, was walking with another person in the 600 block of East 79th Street shortly before 4 p.m. when three other males approached them.
"A fist fight began. One of the (three) offenders produced a handgun, shot the victim several times," said Chicago Police Officer Laura Kubiak.
Page, of the 0-99 block of North Long Avenue, was pronounced dead at 4:39 p.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. It's unclear if the person walking with Page was hurt.
Police believe the shooting might be gang-related because Page was an alleged member of the Gangster Disciple street gang, authorities said.
No one was in custody and information about the three assailants was unavailable this morning. Calumet Area detectives were investigating.
