The Latin Brothers formed in the year 1970 in the Pilsen neighborhood on the corner of 17th and Racine.  The LBs were founded by Butler.  Other original LBs were Lil Lephie, Wino, Big Foot, Dizzy, Player, and Mr. Lucky.  These men were all Latin Counts gang members in the 1960s from 18th and Racine, and then in 1970 the Latin Counts decided to create a strategy to fight the Ambrose who were real big by 1970.  The Counts created the Latin Brothers and placed Butler in charge and moved them to 17th and Racine, they also created the Bishops and placed them on 18th and Bishop (The idea of the Bishops came not only from their original hood but also from the fact that they were a baseball team called the Bishops prior to 1970).  The LBs and Bishops were used as decoy gangs to trick the Ambrose, Latin Kings, and Satan Disciples into thinking there were these new gangs there when in reality they were Latin Count factions, because of this As, LKs, and SDs saw no need to viciously attack the LBs or the Bishops.  This went on for four months until Butler was murdered by quite possibly Ambrose, after this occurred the Latin Brothers were found out that they were a Count faction and Ambrose was ready the war on them.  Mr. Lucky was made the new leader after Butler's death and they moved to the corner of 19th and Cullerton and disbanded from the Latin Counts entirely and became a separate nation.  The LBs adopted the spear, and helmet as an attempt to steal the symbols from Ambrose but it did not work; however, Ambrose could not get the LBs to drop those symbols either.  All throughout the 1970s the Latin Brothers banged in the Pilsen neighborhood on 19th and Cullerton.  In the year 1980 two major events happened for LBs, they joined the People nation in 1980 and they moved to the West side in the Austin neighborhood.  They soon had sets in Austin on: Austin to Laramie/Lemoyne to Bloomingdale; North and Laramie, North and Central, and on Latrobe St.  They attended Steinmetz H.S., Prosser H.S., and Taft H.S. by the early 1980s.  Some time in the later 1980s the LBs opened shop in the Belmont/Creign neighborhood started by Carlos who is current leader.  They also opened shop in Old Irving neighborhood.  By the 1990s or possibly in the 80s LB disappeared from the Austin neighborhood and are mainly in the Belmont/Creign area.
